Alzheimer’s Association - www.alz.org/sc

A resource for anyone who has a love one with Alzheimer’s Disease or any form of dementia.  The Alzheimer’s Association in South Carolina has Respite Funds available to help families with some limited caregiving at home.  Please contact Jamie Guay at jguay@alz.org in the subject line state Respite Funds to learn more about these funds.


Greenville Area Parkinson’s Society – www.gapsonline.org

The Greenville Area Parkinson Society (GAPS) is a local non-profit organization that offers, support, education, and advocacy to people living with Parkinson’s Disease, their caregivers, spouses, and families.


South Carolina Appalachian Council of Governments (ACOG) www.scacog.org

This organization serves as the Area Agency on Aging (AAA) for the six-county Appalachian Region (Anderson, Cherokee, Greenville, Oconee, Pickens, and Spartanburg counties).  The AAA provides information and assistance to older adults, persons with disabilities and caregivers.  The AAA also operates the Regional Long Term Care Ombudsman Program, the Regional Family Caregivers, Program, and the I-CARE Program.
